Author Websites

 

The process

  1. Design Discussion: Authors should carefully review different author websites and consider your preferences for the website layout.
  2. Gathering Content & Programming: For this step it is necessary for you to acquire all the content and information that you will need to add to the website, including your author questionnaire, pictures, the text for every page, and everything else that will be going in the pages.
  3. Final Revision: After you have put up all the information and the website is 80-90% complete, plan on reviewing the entire website.

Approximate Duration: 10-15 weekdays

All of the following requirements should be found within the website’s design and functionality: 

  • Website will be built in an easy to use  and use a front-end visual builder ensuring easy administration.
  • The Main Menu will include the following pages:
    • Home
    • About the Author
    • Book(s)
    • Blog
    • Contact
  • Premium Websites can include additional pages: In the News, Events, Press Kit, Gallery, Resources
  • The homepage includes a large call to action section, a section for the book, short author bio, the 3 latest blog posts / articles, and a scrolling carousel of featured reviews. Premium Websites can include a slideshow with 3-4 custom-made slides.
  • The book page can include the book cover, short description, buy the book buttons, reviews, and an embedded flip book of the first chapter.
  • The Media / In the News page may include your tip sheet or media kit as well as links to articles, podcasts, and videos you’ve been featured in.
  • May include creation of Google Analytics account for tracking website statistics.
  • Premium Websites include creation of a free Mailchimp newsletter account to include an email sign up form on the website.
