Dr. Andrea D. Sullivan was the first African American to receive a PhD in sociology/criminology from the University of Pennsylvania and the first to receive a degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University. She is a licensed naturopathic physician with thirty-six years of experience, a founding member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and was appointed by the mayor of Washington, DC, to serve on the Board of Medicine.
