Symphonicity is taking Handel high-tech with an unusual collaboration for this weekend’s “Messiah” singalong.
The Virginia Beach orchestra has teamed up with Koehler Books Publishing and will record its concert for use in a daily devotional guide combining the text and music of the popular oratorio. More than 1,000 voices in the audience will bring the inspirational choruses to life.
The project was the brainchild of Hillery Schanck, a Virginia Beach investment counselor who enjoys studying the Bible and religious texts.
